We’re excited to announce a new hands-on workshop on May 19th through Milford Makes: a Visible Mending Workshop focused on repairing and reimagining well-loved clothing.
Instead of tossing worn or damaged items, visible mending offers a creative way to extend their life. Using simple hand-stitching techniques, participants will learn how to repair clothing in a way that is both functional and expressive.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and designed for anyone who is curious about learning a new skill, exploring sustainable practices, or simply spending time creating in a relaxed environment.
Whether you bring a favorite pair of jeans, a sweater with a hole, or a jacket that needs a little care, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of repairing and reinforcing your item.
The workshop will be led by Robin Mazzola, Costume Shop Manager and Adjunct Professor of Theater at Wesleyan University, who will provide hands-on instruction and support throughout the session.

Date: Tuesday, May 19
Time: 6:00–8:30 PM
Location: Firehouse Gallery, Milford, CT
Cost: $55

Why Visible Mending?
Visible mending is part of a growing movement toward sustainability and creative reuse. It encourages us to rethink how we value the items we already own, and to see repair not as something hidden, but as something worth celebrating.
Spots are limited to keep the workshop small, hands-on, and supportive.
